Daily Dose 8-19-13

Esther 4:12-14 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
For such a long time, Esther’s life probably made no sense. Despite having the loving support of her uncle, the orphan girl probably felt alone and as if there was no purpose for her. Esther probably faced a lot of trials, shed a lot of tears and wondered if she would ever really fit in. All that she had endured came to a critical point of purpose when she and she alone was able to thwart Haman’s plot to destroy the Jewish people. She saved the lineage of Christ, who eventually saved the world. The courage it took for her to go to the King unannounced was great. However, she did not amass that courage and the wisdom she needed alone. She fasted, prayed and called on others to pray for her. She was at a crossroads and she knew she needed God’s counsel and support. Are you at a crossroad? Think of Esther. Look not to your own pros and cons list, or what your heart desires. Turn to Him with a clean slate of praise and worship. Ask God to write HIS plan on your heart.
Father, There is so much I don’t know, but I know You…that’s all I need. I love You. Amen
