Genesis 3:8-10, 21 (MSG) “When they heard the sound of
God strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in
the trees of the garden, hid from God. God called to the Man: “Where are you?”
He said, “I heard you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked. And I
hid…God made leather clothing for Adam and his wife and dressed them.”
What a life Adam and Eve had before sin! Strolling through
the beautiful Garden with God on a daily basis…complete peace, complete unity.
When they ate from the tree of knowledge, they saw their differences. They
turned against each other when confronted with their disobedience. More sadly,
sin caused them to hide from God…an impossible thing to do. With justice, God
disciplined them for their disobedience and allowed the consequences to follow.
In mercy, He clothed them. The Creator of the Universe who hung the stars in
the sky and set the borders of the seas, delicately crafted clothing to cover
their vulnerability. God has spent the rest of time personally working with
those who come out of hiding to admit their sins before Him. He sent the
ultimate covering for all our sins through the sacrifice of Christ. What sin
has you trying to hide in the bushes from God? Answer His call for you. The
beautiful garment of salvation and companionship with Him awaits you!
Father, Thank you for stitching my garment of salvation with
Christ. Never let me forget its expense! I love you! Amen
