Daily Dose 6-19-13

Proverbs 17:14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.
Sometimes, it’s OK not to prove your point. Arguments usually only bring conflict and pain instead of promoting peace. We are called to speak up and defend the truth. But too often, we use the pretense of being bold for truth to prove a point for our own pride. Before you step up to speak out about something that could lead to conflict, spend time in prayer, fasting and in the Word. Check your motives and your heart. Ask God to intervene in a way that would bring resolution and peace instead of an argument.
Father, You know I like to be right in points of contention. Soften my heart to desire only to be right with You. I love You. Amen
