Daily Dose 4-13-12

Luke 16:10-12 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?”
How we manage our daily lives on earth has an impact on how we will live out the rest of our lives here – and for eternity. God longs to bless His people. He also knows who is capable of handling material blessings. Wealth can be a great stumbling block to faith. Maybe you do not have earthly riches because God knows the way you would mange – or be managed by the wealth. More importantly, God may be protecting your heart from deserting Him for money. This is discussed as though we are all looking for more earthly rewards, when in fact, we ARE ALL wealthy according to the rest of the world. The most desperate, living at or below the poverty line in the United States, are considered among the most-wealthy people in the world. No matter your financial status, examine your spiritual standing. Show God that your small faith is working hard for His kingdom, so that He may increase your faith and empower you to do greater things on earth that will pay high dividends for eternity. Our focus should not be on our riches today, but we should be keenly aware every day what we are investing in eternity – what’s your net worth?
Father, Forgive me for allowing short term thinking to skew Your vision for my eternity. Nudge me today and every day to invest my time, talent and treasure where You are working. Open my eyes to the opportunities You set before me – don’t let me miss any! I love you! Amen
