Revelation 20:11-15 I saw a Great White Throne and the One Enthroned. Nothing could stand before or against the Presence, nothing in Heaven, nothing on earth. And then I saw all the dead, great and small, standing there—before the Throne! And books were opened. Then another book was opened: the Book of Life. The dead were judged by what was written in the books, by the way they had lived. Sea released its dead, Death and Hell turned in their dead. Each man and woman was judged by the way he or she had lived. Then Death and Hell were hurled into Lake Fire. This is the second death—Lake Fire. Anyone whose name was not found inscribed in the Book of Life was hurled into Lake Fire.
John’s Revelation is not easy to understand. There is a lot of symbolism that some say is not to be taken literally. Others say it paints a realistic picture of the end of this earth and God’s judgment. One thing is very clear; God WILL judge people. Those who have loved Him and accepted His Son have their names written in the Book of Life. The absence of one’s name in that book leads to an eternal judgment. We are not forced to accept Jesus, but we are forced to choose. Anyone reading this has probably had ample opportunity to accept Christ and have their name written in the Book of Life. If you have not yet accepted Jesus, what’s stopping you? Life on earth is better with the peace and comfort a relationship with Him brings. Eternal life will be a torturous hell without Him. The choice is yours!
Father, I don’t completely understand how the end will come. I do know that because of Your Son, my name IS written in the Book of Life. I thank You for my salvation and pray You will prick the hearts of those I love who have not yet chosen the salvation of Christ. I love You! Amen
