1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…
Most of us have heard and read this scripture many times and many even have it committed to memory. It’s a scripture many “know” but have a hard time putting into practice. This section of the Word is the foundational principle of walking out the ministry of Christ. Yet, it is often the hardest thing we do. To practice real love – with all those we encounter – is the truest test of how we allow Christ to reveal Himself through us.
Father, Help me remember the challenge You have placed on my heart: To love the unlovely and those who reject or discount my love is the way Christ is seen in me. I love You. Amen
