Mark 6:4-6 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.
Perception can become reality. When Jesus met people throughout His ministry, He was able to heal diseases and raise people from the dead. Great multitudes followed Him and saw Him as a great teacher and healer, the Messiah. As a result, they experienced His healing power in their lives. Their perception of Him became reality. On the other hand, the hometown crowd of Jesus was tough. They could not get their perception of Him out of their heads – the carpenter’s son, “He played with my kids” – just an ordinary man. As a result, their reality with Him was ordinary. His ability to have a powerful impact on their lives was diminished. What is your perception of Jesus? Is His church a mere activity you have participated in since childhood? Does your relationship with Him consist of a few wrote prayers and only looking to Him in distress – has He become ordinary to You? If so, then His level of impact will only be ordinary in Your life. Change Your perception! Acknowledge the authority and power of Jesus Christ – let Him change your reality!
Powerful Savior, You are anything but ordinary! Please keep my perception of You real. Let me always see You as the One who changed my reality from lost alone and hopeless, to saved, cherished and healed. Amen
