John 3:119-21 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
The light Jesus brings to our lives should do two things: Reflect His image through us; and expose our hearts to others. In both scenarios, we are vulnerable, exposed and open. Are we comfortable with that? It seems like sometimes we want to be venetian blind Christians where we control when His light shines through us and when His light is allowed to expose our hearts. But Jesus wants us to be transparent. When we are willing to be transparent – even if it’s not pretty – He can see better how to purify and cleanse our hearts. Take down the blinds and let Him get to work!
Father, Thank You for the saving light Your Son brings. May I be open and transparent so He may shine through me and work in me. Amen
