Proverbs 21:31 The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.
The Message translation of this scripture says, “Do your best, prepare for the worst—then trust God to bring victory.” So many of us operate in extremes. There are those who claim such great faith in God that they do nothing and sit back waiting on God to do it all. Then, there are those who say they trust God, but then act as though everything is up to them and try to control or manipulate everything. God calls us to work WITH Him. He wants us to be in close relationship with Him through time in the Word and prayer. This strengthens our ability to hear the Holy Spirit’s direction. When we are taking Spirit-led steps in any struggle or transition, we are certain to have victory through the will of God. What does that look like? In matters of health, God IS the ultimate healer, yet He empowers physicians to work with Him. To have options presented for care and then resist or refuse because you claim God will heal, limits how He may want to grow you or use you to grow others in the process. In matters of provision, to say you trust God to provide, yet you do not work or do not apply for opportunities, limits what God can do to provide. Walking with God in this life is more about the journey than the destination. Stay close to Him and follow His lead!
Father, I am looking for victory! Show me my role in our partnership on this life journey. Tune my ears to hear Your Spirit. Prick my heart to know the next steps. I love You! Amen
