Psalm 33:8-9 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
There are times when we need to just kneel our hearts in reverence and praise God for who He is. Yes, He wants to be close to us and have a personal, intimate relationship with Him. However, for our own good ~ He wants us to truly know Him and know what power is at our disposal. It’s easy for us to think of Him as our mighty rescuer and the One who comes to our aid. But, we also need to understand He is the almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth. Our prayers cannot be just about who we are, want to be or what we need. Our prayers must acknowledge the awe-inspiring fact of who He is and that He, not only is willing to listen to our prayers, but He also eagerly awaits our call. Try a day of praise-only prayer. Trust Him; He knows more than we do about all the rest!
Holy God, You are beyond description. Majestic, powerful, perfect and just come to mind, but seem inadequate to encompass who You are. The beauty and intrinsic detail of nature are the exclamation point on your story of creation. I am humbled that You desire my praise, and honored to give it! I love You! Amen
