Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
There are times in life when we feel like or spirits are crushed. Loss, disappointments, rejection, hardships, and suffering lead us to feel as though there is no point. This scripture points us to the way to heal our crushed spirits. Often, the hard times become harder when we dwell on their negatives. We need to learn to look at the positives in the difficult times. Be thankful and offer praise for what is good. Learn to find joy in the midst of adversity. It’s not easy at first, but the more it is practiced, the more you realize it works! You have a choice. You can live with a focus on the negatives of your hardships; or focus on the positives despite your hardships. Which will you choose today?
Father, Life can be tough at times. Yet, when I am closest to You is when I can see the positives that lie in and amidst the negatives. Keep my mind and my heart focused on what is good, and use that perspective to overcome the bad. Thank You for the fresh start every morning to try again! I love You! Amen
